Inspection specialist scanware is exhibiting their newest generation of bulk inspection system, SPECTRA BULK QI, at PackExpo. Its new user interface is even more intuitive, but the heart of the new software is a modular structure combined with algorithms that make a lot of decisions for the user. Based on a number of images taken during teach-in, many parameters settings are suggested to the user, skipping an extensive teach-in process.
The system works at high speed, inspecting up to a million of items per hour. That is impressive in itself, but according to the Manager of the Software Development team at scanware, Roland Burger: “The system does not only inspect the product once, but multiple times on the lane. Their progress Is tracked, so we can even evaluate jumping products.” The system also offers multiple ejection modes, enabling producers to optimise productivity.
Other product inspections on the booth are traditionally European blister machines. This includes a pre-seal, post-seal product inspection and a print inspection unit. Furthermore, a touch screen station is available to demo the use of other systems, for example for parenterals, tubes etc.
