Girls'Day 2018 at scanware electronic GmbH
On Thursday, 26.04.2018, two girls (11 and 13 years) had the opportunity to try out the profession of an ‘Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems’. They had not only the chance to look over the shoulders of the production staff in their daily work and ask questions. They were also allowed to assemble and solder a circuit board with resistors, LEDs and other components under instruction. The two girls were allowed to take the functioning end result as a souvenir.
The participants were accompanied through the day by scanware employee Bastian Krotz. ‘We wanted to give the girls a taste of technology in our production and show them in a practical way how exciting and versatile our professional environment is,’ explains the trained electronics technician. ‘It would be very nice if more girls were interested in technical professions and would choose an apprenticeship in the scanware production. ’
Even if there are no trainees in the production department yet, scanware can register female trainees in MINT professions. Since 2016, the Bickenbach-based technology company has been training a female IT specialist with a focus on application development.
