Feeder Inspection
By monitoring the products in the feed system it is possible to increase the overall efficiency of a blister line substantially. The products are inspected in the feed system. The aim is to detect broken tablets already during feeding and to eject rejected products before they are placed in the formed foil. This application makes especially high demands on image processing speed in particular as defective products have to be ejected immediately after image acquisition. The feed system has six feeder lanes. Each feeder lane is monitored by a high-speed high-resolution colour camera. Each camera supplies an image. A special hardware component does the compensation of the six images and merges them into one. That high-performance hardware component is an in-house design and provides sufficient computing power to process large amounts of image information at full colour resolution and to handle large amounts of data. Solution to that application The ideal solution for that application was the LYNX vision system hardware, which is used here with the LYNX-SPECTRA application software and the powerful HR technology from scanware. |
